About Us
The idea for Pushy was created on June 26, 2009 by Martin Brandenburg, Charlie Melbye, and Robbie Trencheny. The site was put into a limited private beta shortly after, and was made public July 17, 2009.
We all love everything Apple, and we were overjoyed when we saw that the Push Notification service was finally being implemented into iPhone OS 3.0. We were excited to see this feature implemented in our favourite applications, but we realised that it may have been harder to implement into iPhone applications than we previously thought.
iPhone developers have to create their own server to route notifications to Apple's gateway servers, and that requires development time and money which they could otherwise be using to improve their actual application. Furthermore, they would need to maintain their servers and make sure that they scale with the growing demand of the users of their applications.
That's where Pushy came in. We provide an API that's dead simple to use, which makes it easy to implement Push Notifications into your application. We handle scaling and maintenance of the server, while you focus on developing your application. Our prices can't be beat, and our support is legendary, which means that implementing push notifications is no longer as time and money intensive as it used to be. What are you waiting for?
About the team
Martin Brandenburg
Martin makes up for the rest of our lack of HTML and CSS skills by creating an awesome user interface for Pushy. His greatest love is Helvetica (but not Arial!), and his biggest pet peeve is the <br /> tag.
